Greg Lauren works in collaboration with The Gee’s on a new collection of apparel that spotlights a sustainable mindset throughout all of the designs. Lauren wants to accelerate the Bend quilting community by Gee’s and sew the names of the women who shaped the new clothing line onto the garments.
Notably, all of the profits from this capsule will be directed back to Gee’s Bend, which is a Black community producing captivating quilts. Every item is signed by the quilter and the biographies and special narratives of the women are sewn into the garments respective of the quilts. To make the capsule possible, Lauren kept up constant communication with the Bend quilters, sending the women tubs of his Scrapwork fabric.
